Healthy Foods Recipe |
At this time of year, life moves at lightning speed. This seems to be the nature of the season- slowly unfolding, building, towards the holidays. Days get shorter, cold and our appetite also changes. We yearn for body, soul and warm, comforting, meatier, comfort food dishes.
If you have been on the blog for some time, you know that most of the recipes you find here are light, healthy (such as these vegetarian recipes for fall). But I do not consider food or food good or bad. These recipes are more of a “stick-to-your-bones” type. Rich, decadent and wealthy. And when I don’t cook like this every day, there is a place for them, especially when shared around the table.
Eating comfortably, in moderation, can be incredibly nutritious at the level of the soul. Not just to eat it, but especially in the act of making it. It can be really comforting to cook comfortably if we allow it – the perfect way to spend a slow and lazy Sunday.
It is especially nice to share it with others. Many of these comfort food dishes can be carried forward, which are perfect for fall ceremonies or holiday tables. Here are some of my favorite food recipes for fall and winter. I hope you enjoy!
